 Birds of the Arizona Trail

In 2025, I hiked 350 miles on the Arizona Trail, from the Southern Terminus to Roosevelt Lake. Norovirus snatched me bald, y’all. I couldn’t eat for a week and then it was another week before I could eat anything other than white bread and nutella. I surrendered, went home and took another month to return to normal-ish. I hope to go back in 2026 because I miss the melody of the Curved Bill Thrashers that sang me awake most mornings. Until then, I’ll relive the feathery magic by painting all the birds I encountered along those first 350 miles.

If you’re interested in having one of these paintings for your own, please reach out for details. We can make that happen!
