Welcome to my blog.
Expect reflections on long distance hiking, hiking culture, nature, creativity and my undying love for backrests.
I started long distance hiking in 2017 when I tackled the Appalachian Trail. After walking 1,800 miles, the AT tackled me back.
Some time between starting the AT in 2017 and finishing the AT in 2020, I started mixing things up. Now I cobble together sections of trail that interest me and allow me to keep going with fewer injuries and fewer regrets.
These days, I hike to be somewhere, not to get somewhere.
Most of my wanderlust centers around hiking and the sketchbook I carry with me along the way. But you’ll find a lot of reflections in my “Journal,” too, about hiking culture, nature, gear, life in the slow lane, staying healthy on trail and creativity.
I hope this journal inspires you to try scary things, fail regularly if only to learn more about what success looks like to you and, above all, hike your own hike.
