I decided to break my Stealth Site streak because I heard about a tent site perched on the edge of a rocky outcrop at the Tray Mountain Shelter. I love a rocky outcrop where I can sit and enjoy a view along with a cup of anti-inflammatory Turmeric Tea before dinner.

Even though these 70-ish miles through the Smokies are the last 70-ish miles I have to finish the AT, I’ve both dreaded and procrastinated this section. This is the third permit I’ve bought, and I’m determined that it will be my last. This time, I finish.
What an amazing opportunity solo hiking will be for stretching outside of our comfort zones, especially for the solo hiker who knows how to be alone.
