Aug 24 Umbrella on a Thru-Hike, yes or no?

On a recent training hike, I pondered the idea of carrying an umbrella. I’m not an umbrella person, but some people carry a lightweight umbrella as their only rain gear.

The more I pondered, though, the more I found to like about the idea.

Now, I've totally talked myself in to carrying an umbrella from Georgia to Maine!
