Jan 22 A Breakthrough

Sketching, roulette

Revisiting Grayson Highlands State Park (through photos and watercolor) and having a bit of a watercolor breakthrough.

I’m training myself to paint quickly, letting the paint work its magic and not getting too caught up in perfection or judgement.

I completed this sketch in about ten minutes and I’m thrilled with the juicy colors and the rocks! Just what I wanted.

Things are starting to get really fun on this sketching journey.

9.19.19...Nailed it! And no one got hurt (except a toe I stubbed, but he seems to have forgiven me and plans to hang on to his toenail for now). When I hiked most of the AT in 2017, I worried about so many things that turned out to not such big deal
